It is very important for the design of rotary seals that feed back-, low pressure-, control-, leakage oil- and pneumatic connections are placed on the outside.

It is also important to place the high pressure channels in the middle to ensure that the heavy loaded high pressure seals can be greased and cooled from both sides.

Adequate back up rings allow the use of seal materials under high pressure, high temperature and/or in spite of wide clearances.
